JUMPERS AND SWITCHES

To gain access to the DIP switches and jumpers you will have to remove the top cover.
Before removing the top cover of the unit make sure that the power cord is
disconnected from the mains.

5.2.1. DIP Switch Functions

The main circuit board contains an 8 position DIP switch (S1) that invokes setup and diagnostic
functions. Most users will have no need to alter the factory switch settings. The functions of each switch
are described below.

5.2.1.1. Enabling the IRIG CS-6 compatible Broadcast Data Output.

When you set DIP switch 2 to the closed (down) position the 8010TM-IRIG SERIAL port will output a IRIG CS-6
compatible serial data stream output with the following specifications.
Baud Rate:
Selectable using the SERIAL BAUD RATE control
Word Size:
8 bits, no parity, 1 stop bit
Once per field the 8010TM-IRIG will send the IRIG time most recently read from the VITC data in the following
formatted ASCII message:
<STX>002<D
100

5.2.2. Configuring the Serial Port

The Serial port can be configured for various pinouts, as described in Chapter 2. During manufacture,
the serial port is configured for RS-232 DCE.
