Using Security Management

Compaq ProSignia servers offer multilevel security to provide just the right
solution for your security needs. This comprehensive security system
implements control on three levels: software, hardware, and mechanical.
These three types of security features enable and disable key subsystems of
the server, providing flexibility in designing system security. The following
table provides an overview of the features and how they are accessed:

Security and Network Features
Purpose
Prevents reconfiguration of the
server (use of the Server Setup
option) until the password is
entered.
Prevents use of the server until
the password is entered.
Allows system startup from the
hard drive or network while
keyboard is disabled.
Prevents use of the server unless
password is entered.
Disables keyboard without exiting
application; enabled with a
password.
