The Allows are the combination of the Allows from all three groups: Example
Group 1, Example Group 2, and User; the Allows are All IP traffic and All IP traffic
Similarly for the redirects: we now have a long list of redirects from all three
groups.
Also of interest is that Expire min is now 10000 as specified by the Example Group
1, and the Linger is now 60 as specified by the Example Group 1.
So Linger is the maximum of all the linger rights from each of the groups. This is
a straightforward concept, but what in the world is the Expire max and Expire
min?
• Expire min is the seconds that the Rights Manager is going to tell the WLAN
Access Manager that these rights expire at.
• Expire max is what the Rights Manager will remember as the time when this client
needs to revert back to logon rights.
So since this user has an expire max of Never, the client will never need to revert
back to logon rights. Because the expire minimum is 10000 seconds, 10000 seconds
after the WLAN Access Manager receives these rights, the WLAN Access Manager
will request new rights from the Rights Manager. If these groups/location haven't
changed, then the same rights package will be sent to the WLAN Access Manager
with another 10000 second expire time.
Okay, so what other things can complicate the handing out of rights. There are two
other factors that we haven't really talked about yet. The first is more locations,
and the second is locations or groups that are only valid at certain times.
The default Everywhere Else location is nice for getting things started, but most
networks are going to want specific things to happen at specific locations. So new
locations will need to be created.
There might also be locations or groups that an administrator wants accessing the
network only at specified times.

Example 3, Public Location

The first of the typically asked for locations is a guest-only location.
Step 1.
So let's create a new location called Guest only.
Follow the procedure described in the Rights Management chapter. At
this location, we do not allow any User groups, and do not allow any of
the Normal groups. Only Logon and Guest are allowed, as shown in
C-15.
