Connecting the Emulator to Your Target System
This chapter shows you how to connect the emulator to the target system and
how to configure the emulator and target.
Here is a summary of the steps for connecting and configuring the emulator:
1 Make sure the target system is designed to work properly with the
emulator. (See your processor-specific emulation or solution User's
Guide.)
2 Install the emulation module in your logic analysis system, if necessary.
(See page 41)
3 Connect the emulator to your target system using the ribbon cable.
(See page 50 and see your processor-specific emulation or solution
User's Guide.)
4 Update the firmware of the emulator, if necessary. (See page 67)
5 Verify communication between the emulator and the target. (See your
processor-specific emulation or solution User's Guide.)
6 Configure the emulator. (See your processor-specific emulation or
solution User's Guide.)
7 Test the connection between the emulator and the target. (See your
processor-specific emulation or solution User's Guide.)
8 Connect a debugger to the emulator, if applicable. (See your processor-
specific emulation or solution User's Guide.)
