When you are ready to take an exposure touch the Ready
field on the main display. The unit will move to the ready
position for the selected sinus exposure program.
On the exposure button and on the control panel a green
indicator light will come on. Additionally, the word READY
will be shown on the control panel display. The Dimaxis
program will show the Waiting for Ready message on the
computer screen.
The green indicator lights and the word READY will flash
while the unit moves to the ready position. They will stop
flashing when the unit has reached the ready position for
the selected sinus exposure program. The Dimaxis
program will now show the Waiting for Exposure message
on the computer screen.
Ask the patient to swallow and stand as still as possible.
Move to a protected area. In case you do not have a
protected area available, move at least two meters (seven
feet) from the X-ray. Protect yourself from radiation.
Press and hold down the exposure button for the duration
of the exposure. The C-arm will move through one
complete exposure cycle. During the exposure cycle the
radiation warning lights on the exposure switch and on the
control panel will come on and you will hear the radiation
warning tone. When the C-arm has completed the
exposure cycle the temple supports will automatically
open. You can now guide the patient from the unit.
NOTE
Maintain audio and visual contact with the patient
and unit during exposure. If the C-arm stops
moving during exposure, release the exposure
button immediately.
You can drive the C-arm to the entry position by touching
the Go Entry 1 or Go Entry 2 field in the display.
NOTE
If a large number of exposures is taken in rapid
succession the X-ray tube may overheat and a
cooling time will flash in the display (e.g. 00:42).
The cooling time indicates the delay before the
next exposure can be taken.
When you have taken the exposure the image will be
shown on the computer screen. Note that you must
accept the image by clicking the "OK" button - only
accepted images will be stored in the database. Refer
to the Dimaxis User's Manual for further information.
