Control processor upgrade
Prerequisites to control processor upgrade

Upgrade a control processor (CP) by replacing an existing CP with a different
version, or upgrade a pair of matched CPs with a later version than the
existing CPs.

CAUTION
Traffic loss due to an outage
Upgrading a CP in a device that does not have redundant
CPs results in traffic loss. The device will be out of service
for the time it takes to perform the upgrade.
CAUTION
Risk of electrostatic damage
When handling processor cards, wear a grounded
antistatic wrist strap so that you do not damage electronic
parts. For more information, see "Avoiding damage from
static electricity" (page 208).
