2.4 Wiring
A. Precautions when Wiring
Using the high-speed controller with 3000:1 of precision, servo drive handles signals below
small mV. Pay attention to the conditions listed below when wiring.
1. Multi-core twisted pair with overall wire shield must be used for the signal wire and
position signal (CN1, CN2, CN3 connection wire). Thus use electric wire with the
thickness of at least AWG26. Especially when the input of the position command in
open collector method is provided by the host controller, multi-core twist pair shield
wire must be used. Otherwise it may cause error in operations such as position
shifting due to external noise.
2. If possible, use thick electrical wire for grounding and one point must be grounded.
However, apply the class higher than 3 class.
mechanical parts, ground the motor.
3. The maximum length of the wire for command input cable (CN1) is 3m and for the
position sensor and motor power cable, its maximum length is 20m. Cut off excessive
wires and use shortest wiring distance if possible.
※Contact the agency for long-distance wiring.
4. Pay attention to the following cases to prevent errors due to noise when operation the
system.
Line filter, servo drive, motor, input devices should be installed as closely as possible.
Attach surge absorbing circuit for relay, wiring circuit breaker, electronic contactor,
and etc.
Refer to 2.6 Noise Protection.
5. The heat sink of the servo drive can rise up to around 80℃. Avoid the devices or
wiring, which can be easily effected by the heat, from the servo drive.
6. Open unused signals and terminals. The system may be affected by the external noise
if unused circuit is wired.
7. If the cable is not fixed in place and moves, utilize separate movable cable. The life
span of the cable is around 2 years. Change the cable every 2 years.
