Connection to a Receiver (TCP/IP)

Click on
or use the CONNECT command (for command description, refer to paragraph 4.1
Command Description) :
Click on OK to validate the proposed name or enter a new name or new IP address. After creating an
empty MCS document, this window facilitates connection of this new document to a Cortex RTR.
When using the MMI directly on the receiver (not on a remote computer), you can use the « localhost
» name to connect the MMI to the receiver.
The MCS opens a TCP-IP connection to the « Monitoring » port of the Cortex RTR and begins
machine monitoring. If the MCS fails to open the connection, a warning message will appear:
Once a connection to the Cortex RTR has been set up, configuration parameters, states and alarms
are received periodically and the graphic interface refreshes them in real-time.
Note:
The Cortex RTR Signal Processing Software (SPS) and the Monitoring and Control Software (MCS)
are started up automatically. The MCS uses the IP address contained in the default document. The
Cortex RTR is configured from parameters that are read in the cortex-nt.ctx file. A file copy is kept in
RAM (CTX table) until the application is stopped. The cortex-nt.mcs file (default selection) is also kept
in RAM (MCS table).
