6. Remove the ECT sensor.
7. Replace the gasket.
8. Install in the reverse order of removal.

15.7-23.5 N·m {1.7-2.3 kgf·m, 12.3-16.6 ft·lbf}

Continuity Inspection

1. Disconnect the ECT sensor connector.
2. Remove the ECT sensor. (See
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
3. Place the ECT sensor in the water and while increasing water temperature, measure the resistance
between terminals A and B.
• If not within the specification, replace the ECT sensor. (See
TEMPERATURE (ECT) SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
• If the monitor item condition/specification (reference) is not within the specification, even though
there is no malfunction, perform the "Circuit Open/Short Inspection".
