Hazards of Use

The absence of instruction, or the inadequate imparting of instruction, can lead to incorrect
or prohibited use, and can give rise to accidents with far-reaching human, material, financial
and environmental consequences.
Precautions:
All users must follow the safety instructions given by the manufacturer and the directions
of the person responsible for the system.
Watch out for erroneous measurement results if the product has been dropped or has been
misused, modified, stored for long periods or transported.
Precautions:
Periodically carry out test measurements and perform the field adjustment indicated in the
user manual, particularly after the product has been subjected to abnormal use and before
and after important measurements.
Beware of inadequate steering if machine is defective, e.g. like after an accident or after
damaging events or alterations to the machine.
Precautions:
Periodically perform control measurements and field adjustments on the machine as speci-
fied in the user manual. While working, paving and grading should be checked by appropriate
means, for example spirit level, tachymeter, before and after important measuring tasks.
