Start‐up
Important
The data stored in TEDS are only valid for the adjusted (sensor and CMA)
measuring chain (see Chapter 6.3). As soon as you replace one of the
components, you must re‐calculate the data and change them in the TEDS
module.
Information
If the charge amplifier is not deployed as part of a complete measuring chain,
the TEDS module is not written.
Updating TEDS content
To update TEDS data, relevant hardware and software must be available, and
if applicable, you must be in possession of the necessary rights (CAL), see
Section 8.1.1 on page 21.
Use multiplication to calculate the correct output span from the characteristic
values of the charge amplifier and force transducer components (see additional
information in the manufacturing certificate):
Output span U
a
transducer (in pC/N) x sensitivity of charge amplifier (in mV/pC) /1000
Example:
CFT/20kN force transducer
CMA158 charge amplifier
U
= 20000 N x (-7.779 pC/N) x (-0.064 mV/pC) /1000 = 9.957 V

Parallel connection of sensors

You can connect several sensors in parallel, e.g. to measure larger forces, with
the CMA5000/2 or by using the summing box CSB4/1. The charges of all
sensors are added here.
