5.3.2. Procedure for Firmware Upgrades
1. If you have changed the Serial port wiring from the factory default you will need to remove the top
cover and set the jumpers on jumper block J9 to the RS-232 DCE settings.
To avoid risk of shock, place the top cover on the unit before applying power.
2. Carefully place the top cover back on the unit before applying power to the unit.
3. With power disconnected, connect the straight through cable between the SDI Time Code Master
serial port and the PC.
4. Power-up the PC, and start the terminal software.
5. Configure the port settings of the terminal program as follows:
6. To invoke the bootloader, hold the key on the front panel and apply power to the SDI Time Code
Master.
7. The front panel will display the word PROGRAMMER-19200. You should also see a menu appear in
the terminal window on the PC.
