Removing the SRring

The steps are identical for both fork legs.

Remove lock ring

The lock ring has a ground end against which a screwdriver can be posi­
tioned.

Warm the outer tube in area G) of the lower sliding bushing.

Pull the outer tube forcefully off of the inner tube.

The lower sliding bushing (;) must be pulled out of its bearing seat.

Remove the upper sliding bushing@).

Do not use a tool; pull the ends apart slightly by hand.

Take off the lower sliding bushing (;).

Take off support ring �-

Take off seal ring

Take off dust boot (D.

Unclamp the fork leg.
Preparatory work

Disassemble the fork legs.
Main work

Pull the spring down. Mount the open end wrench on the hexagonal part.
