Removing the shock absorber

9.11 Checkin the shock absorber linkage

Remove the motorcycle from the lift stand.
-
Check the static sag of the shock absorber.
-
Check the riding sag of the shock absorber.
-
Adjust the rebound damping of the shock absorber.
Preparatory work
-
Raise the motorcycle with a lift stand.
-
Remove the right side cover.
-
Remove the main silencer.
-
Remove the seat. (a

Main work
-
Carefully take the shock absorber out of the vehicle toward the top.
Main work
-
Carefully position the shock absorber into the vehicle from above.
Finishing work
-
Install the manifold. (i!<ll p. 69)

Mount the seat. (i!<ll p. 77)

Install the main silencer.
-
Install the right side cover.
-
Remove the motorcycle from the lift stand.
