VTI Instruments Corp.
AC Voltage: Calculates gains and offsets for ac voltage measurements.
AC Current: Calculates gains and offsets for ac current measurements.
Resistance: Calculates gains and offsets for 2-wire and 4-wire resistance measurements.
Reference Instruments Field
The calibration and verification routines use VXI-11 to communicate with reference instruments.
As such, a hostname and device identifier (typically a GPIB address for a LAN-GPIP gateway)
must be specified for each instrument. Note that, while any LAN/GPIB gateway should work, only
the Agilent E5810A has been tested.
Calibrator: Specifies the calibrator that will be used for calibration. Currently only supports
F5700 and F5700A. An F5720A amplifier must be connected to the calibrator.
External DMM: Specifies the DMM which will be used for calibration. Currently only
supports HP3458A.
Function Generator: Specifies the function generator that will be used. Currently only the
HP33120A and HP33220A are supported.
Connect button: Once the fields have been populated, the user can attempt to connect to these
instruments by using the Connect button. If an instrument is found, it will be identified and
its identification displayed to the right. If identification or calibration information is missing
from any of the devices, the user will be prompted to enter it before continuing.
Note that only the instruments necessary for the selected calibration function(s) will be enabled in
this field. The following table indicates which procedures require each instrument.

Calibration Data Field
The Calibration Data field defines the type of calibration which will be performed as well as the
functions which will be calibrated.
Dataset: Indicates the identification number of the current dataset. The DMM can store nine
sets of adjustment data in its flash memory; dataset 0 is the factory calibration and is loaded
when the instrument is reset and at power-on.
Load Data: Loads the selected adjustment dataset from flash and into memory. Any further
Save Data: Saves the current adjustment data into the selected dataset.
Dump Current Data: Saves the currently loaded adjustment data in a .csv format, by default.
Auto-Save: When selected, the data obtained while running a calibration procedure will be
Temperature Field
The Temperature field provides the internal and external temperature during calibration.
Internal: Displays the current internal temperature of the DMM.
External: The current ambient temperature should be entered here when a calibration or
verification procedure is started.
