Slot x: One Slot tab will appear for each switch/instrument installed in the EX1200 system.
This provides the ability to monitor the state of the relays or control them directly. When a
plug-in card is initially accessed from the Tab bar, the switch's SFP appears in Monitor Only
mode. To control the plug-in card, simply click on the Control Mode button and select either
the Synchronous Mode or Asynchronous Mode. These SFPs are also available as a
standalone via the Soft Front Panel main page. Please refer to Switch Soft Front Panels in
this section for more information regarding use of the switch SFPs.
DMM/DMM Calibration: If a DMM module is installed in the EX1200 system, the DMM
and DMM Calibration tabs will be present. The DMM tab allows for direct control of the
DMM module, while the DMM Calibration tab provides the calibration logic for the DMM
module. Like the Slot tabs, the DMM tab can be accessed as a standalone via the Soft Front
Panel pain page. Please refer to DMM Soft Front Panel and DMM Calibration in this section
for more information regarding use of the these SFPs.
Status Display
The Status Display field emulates a display that might appear on the physical front panel of a
scanning DMM, as it displays measurements taken by instruments commanded by the scanner as it
progresses through a scanlist. The following information may be provided in this field:
Scan Count: Displays the current scan number. The scan count increases each time the
scanlist repeats. When no scan is running, the field appears blank.
Scan Delay: Indicates the minimum time to complete each scan step. For instance, if this is
set to 1.0 and a scan step completes in only 0.75 seconds, the scanner waits another 0.25
seconds before advancing to the next step.
Scan Status: Displays the operation currently being performed by the scan engine. These
operations include: Idle, Waiting for Scan Trigger In, Waiting for Step Trigger In,
Measuring DCV on 1!CH1_1, etc. When the time between scans is faster than 0.25 seconds,
the display value will no longer correlate to the actual status, as it cannot refresh faster than
this rate.
Last Measurement: If a DMM module is installed, its last measurement is shown here.
Last Channel: Displays the last known scanned channel. This is based on the current
programmed scanlist. If the scanlist is modified, this display may be inaccurate.
System Buttons
The four orange buttons at the top right of the Status Display are system buttons that affect the
functionality of the EX1200 system and all installed modules.
Lock/Unlock: Requests (or releases) exclusive access to the EX1200 system.
Reset: Resets the SFP and the connected modules to power-on defaults. Figure 7-5 shows the
default values for the scanner.
Save/Load: These functions allow the user to either save or load the present DMM, scanlist,
and trigger configurations. Saving a configuration allows the user to use the same settings at a
later time. When the Save button is clicked, the user is prompted to choose a file name where
the data will be saved. To load a saved state, simply click on the Load button, select the
desired file from the dialog box that appears, and then click OK.
