Powering On the Server for the First Time
These topics include instructions for powering on the server for the first time and configuring
the Oracle Solaris OS.
Step
Description
1.
Connect cables to the server. Ensure you connect
the SER MGT port to a terminal before you
connect the power cords.
2.
If using a CMA, connect cables to it now.
4.
Power on the server and start the Oracle ILOM
system console.
5.
Configure the preinstalled OS, or install a fresh
OS.
6. (Optional)
Configure the NET MGT port to use a static IP
address.
7. (Optional)
Activate Oracle Auto Service Request for the
server.

Connect Cables
1.
Connect a Category 5 (or better) RJ-45 cable from the SER MGT port to a
terminal device.
Caution -
Do not attach a modem to this port.
