Navigate through the on-board computer
menus using the left group of buttons on the
multifunction steering wheel.
Whilst you are driving, the on-board computer
provides information about:
fuel consumption
R
trip time
R
operating conditions
R
maintenance due dates
R
malfunctions
R
causes of malfunctions
R
measures to be taken
R

Switch the ignition lock to the radio posi-
tion.
The on-board computer shows the welcome
display (Mercedes star). After a short time
the display also shows the date and time.

Switch the ignition lock to the drive posi-
tion.
The on-board computer shows the last
active menu window, e.g. the
menu window in the ß trip data menu.
If a malfunction is detected, the on-board
computer will display the events in an event
window first. In addition to the event win-
dow, an indicator lamp may light up in the
instrument cluster or in the status area of
the on-board computer. If there are several
messages, the on-board computer shows
them one by one according to priority level.
If further information about the malfunction
is available, the event window displays the
Û symbol. You can display the informa-
tion using the u button.

Clear the event window by pressing the 9
button.

To scroll through the main menus: press
u or t.

To display further menu windows in the
main menu: press r or s.

To open and close the input window:
when a menu window displays the 9 sym-
bol, press 9.

To select menu bars in the input window:
press r or s.
X
To change the value or select an entry in
the input window: press u or t.

If you call up a particular menu window
regularly, e.g. the engine oil level check,
save it on the Ú button.

To save a favourite menu window: call up
the desired menu window and press the Ú
button for approximately 2 seconds.
An acoustic signal sounds and the menu
window is saved.

To display the favourite menu window:
briefly press the Ú button.
