Windscreen washer system
Topping up the washer fluid

WARNING
Windscreen washer concentrate is highly
flammable. If windscreen washer concen-
trate gets onto hot components of the
engine or the exhaust system, it may ignite.
There is a risk of fire and injury.
Make sure that windscreen washer concen-
trate is not spilled in the vicinity of the filler
neck.
Add a washer fluid concentrate according to
Mercedes-Benz Specifications for Service
Products Sheet No. 371.0 throughout the
entire year. Adjust the mixing ratio to suit the
outside temperature.
At temperatures above freezing, use a washer
concentrate for the summer to prevent smear-
ing. If there is a risk of frost, use a washer fluid
concentrate for winter to prevent the water
from freezing on the windscreen.
The washer fluid reservoir for the windscreen
washer system has a capacity of approx-
imately 16 litres.
If the washer fluid level in the washer fluid
i
reservoir is too low, the ¦ symbol
appears in the display and the status indica-
tor lights up yellow.

Mix the washer fluid to the appropriate mix-
ing ratio in a container beforehand.

Unscrew and remove cap of the washer fluid
reservoir.
X
Refill the washer fluid reservoir.
X
Replace cap and screw it on.
Replacing the wiper blades

WARNING
If the windscreen wipers begin to move
while you are changing the wiper blades,
you can be trapped by the wiper arm. There
is a risk of injury.
Always switch off the windscreen wipers and
ignition before changing the wiper blades.
! Only touch the wiper blade on the wiper
arm. Otherwise, you could damage the
wiper blade.
Do not open the bonnet under any circum-
!
stances when a wiper arm is folded for-
wards. Otherwise you will damage the bon-
net.
Do not fold the wiper arm against the wind-
screen without a wiper blade. Otherwise you
could damage the windscreen.
If the wiper blades are worn, the windscreen
will no longer be wiped properly. This could
prevent you from observing the traffic condi-
tions.

Apply the parking brake.

Shift the transmission to neutral position N.
X
Switch off the engine.
X
Remove the key from the ignition lock.
X
To remove the wiper blade: fold wiper
arm ; away from the windscreen.
X
Set wiper blade : at a right angle to the
wiper arm.
