module.
X
Press pin = to ON position 1.
X
Insert the circuit breaker again.
X
Switch on the consumers and check that
they function correctly.
If the automatic circuit-breaker is tripped
again, have the electrical system checked at a
qualified workshop.

Charging the compressed-air system

!
If the supply pressure of the external
compressed-air source is under 10 bar it
cannot be guaranteed that you will be able
to fill all the pressure circuits.
While the engine is not running, you can
charge the compressed-air system via front
coupling head :.
To ensure full charging, the pressure regulator
of the vehicle to be charged needs to be acti-
vated. Reduce the pressure to below 9 bar if
necessary.
i
You can release compressed air by
depressing the brake pedal several times,
for example.
Before towing, check that the spring-loaded
cylinders of the parking brake are released. If
the compressed-air supply is insufficient,
release the spring-loaded cylinders manually

Important safety notes
G
WARNING
During charging and jump-starting, explosive
gases can escape from the battery. There is
a risk of an explosion.
Particularly avoid fire, naked flames, creat-
ing sparks and smoking. Ensure there is suf-
ficient ventilation while charging and jump-
starting. Do not lean over a battery.
G
WARNING
A discharged battery can freeze at tempera-
tures below freezing point. When jump-start-
ing the vehicle or charging the battery,
gases can escape from the battery. There is
a risk of an explosion.
Allow the frozen battery to thaw out before
charging it or jump-starting.
Observe the following notes. You could
!
otherwise damage the battery or electronic
components in the vehicle:
do not use a battery quick-charge unit for
R
jump-starting.
if you use a mobile battery charger (bat-
R
tery device with mains power stage),
remove the mains plug before jump-start-
ing.
only have jump-starting provided by vehi-
R
cles with a 24 V system.
use jump leads which are protected
R
against polarity reversal and with a wire
cross section of approximately 35–
2
50 mm
and insulated terminal clamps.
if the outside temperature drops below
R
Ò10 †, a discharged battery could freeze.
Do not start the engine under these cir-
cumstances. Let the battery thaw out
first.
When you remove the jump leads, let the
!
engine of the vehicle being jump-started
idle. This avoids damage being caused to
the vehicle electronics.
