WARNING
When you unscrew the tyre valve, air is
released under high pressure; particles may
be dispersed. These can get into or irritate
the eyes, nose, mouth and ears. There is a
risk of injury.
Wear protective eyewear when unscrewing
the tyre valve.

After changing a wheel, check the tyre
pressure immediately.
Observe the notes on operating and road
safety.
!
Do not tighten the wheel nuts with an
impact wrench. This could damage the
wheel nuts or wheel bolts.
Wheel nut
:

Before fitting the wheel: remove any cor-
rosion and dirt from the contact areas of the
wheel hub, rim and wheel nuts.
X
Lightly oil the friction contact surfaces
between the pressure plate and the wheel
nut.
Rims with hub centring
X
Vehicles with single tyres: fit the wheel in
place and screw on two to three wheel nuts.
X
Screw on the remaining wheel nuts together
with the wheel nut cover.
X
Vehicle with twin tyres: fit both wheels
and screw on all the wheel nuts.
X
All: tighten the wheel nuts in a crosswise
pattern, observing the tightening torque

while doing so (

Check the tyre pressure (

Only lower the vehicle when the tyre pres-
sures have been set. This avoids tyre dam-
age.

All: the wheel nuts must be retightened

The wheels could work loose if the wheel
nuts and bolts are not tightened to the
specified tightening torque. There is a risk of
accident.
