Checking the locking mechanism at night

Check by feel that control pin = is protrud-
ing.
Uncoupling

Park the vehicle on a firm and level surface.

Apply the parking brake.
X
Chock the trailer/semitrailer's wheels to
secure it against rolling away.
Wheel chocks may only be used on the non-
steered axle of the trailer/semitrailer.

Extend the saddle supports of the semi-
trailer; see the manufacturer's operating
instructions.
X
Set the trailer's towbar support to the
height of the trailer coupling; see the manu-
facturer's operating instructions.

Remove the cable and compressed-air lines

Open the trailer coupling/semitrailer cou-

Folding the ladder up and down
Use the folding ladder to connect cables and
compressed-air lines from the semitrailer, for
example.

To fold down: pull cable : outwards in the
direction of the arrow and fold down lad-
der ;.

To fold up and lock: fold up ladder ; in
the direction of the arrow until you hear it
engage.

Pull ladder ; outwards and check whether
it is locked in place.
Cables and compressed-air lines
Important safety notes

WARNING
If you climb onto or down from the vehicle in
order to connect/disconnect the cables and
compressed-air lines without appropriate
climbing aids, you could:
slip and/or fall

damage components, e.g. the battery
R
cover, and fall as a result
burn yourself on hot components
R
There is a risk of injury.
Always use secure climbing aids, e.g. a suit-
able ladder.
