7.29. TIME CODE TAB

The 7814 series of converters extracts timecode signals from the input signal and translates it to the
output video signal. The time Code control tab contains all the controls associated with the timecode
processing and translation.

7.29.1. Time Code Control

7.29.1.1. D-VITC Reader and D-VITC Writer Lines
Using the VITC Read control, the user can select the line number from which VITC will be read on the
input video. Using the VITC Write control, the user can select the line number where VITC will be written
on the output video. The range for both controls is Line 10 through Line 18.
7.29.1.2. Loss of Time Code Control
This control is used to configure the modules response when time code is lost on the input. The 7814 can
be configured to Mute the output timecode when the input is lost, continue to run the timecode based on
the last timecode received or hold the timecode on that last time code received.
7.29.1.3. D-VITC Source
This control selects the source of Timecode for the D-VITC timecode to be embedded on the output.
Select Embedded to use RP188 ancillary time code (ATC) as the source for high definition video formats
or Vertical interval time code (VITC) as the source for standard definition video formats. When Off is
selected, there will be no timecode on the output video.
7.29.1.4. ANC-VITC Source
This control selects the source of Timecode for the ANC-VITC timecode to be embedded on the output.
Select Embedded to use RP188 ancillary time code (ATC) as the source for high definition video formats
or Vertical interval time code (VITC) as the source for standard definition video formats. When Off is
selected, there will be no timecode on the output video.
