CARD-EDGE CONTROL The 7800IDA8-3G is equipped with a push-button shaft encoder and a four character dot matrix display to control various functions on the card. Setting the Centre Width The Centre Width controls the width of front centre sound in the perceived sound image when listening to up-mixed audio. It mainly affects the perception of speech and dialog. Narrower centre width will cause the front centre sound primarily coming from the centre speaker. -

Setting the Sound Direction Detect Rate The Sound Direction Detect Rate controls the detection rate of sound direction. The up-mixer constantly calculates the sound image that would be perceived from the stereo audio input. If the sound direction shifts in the sound image, the up-mixer changes the output sound direction accordingly by switching the amount of sound going to different speakers. -
