Saving the Modem Configuration
The defined configuration is now active and saved. Every time the modem is reset
(powered ON), this configuration is loaded.
Transmission Speed The IBM 7857 uses an adaptive line rate facility which can
automatically decrease or increase the modem's transmission speeds. This means
that if telecommunication line conditions deteriorate, the modem can still function at
the highest possible efficiency.
