1.1 Purpose – Proper use

Indications
Exposure of implant post following
trans- or subgingival healing in the
alveolus by means of excision or in‐
cision of the mucosal cap in two-
phase implants. The implant cap
(plastic,metal or ceramic) must co‐
ver the implant post completely.
Stemmed fibroma, wide-based fib‐
roma, flapped fibroma on hard/soft
gums, buccal mucous membrane,
lips, edge or base of tongue and
gingiva, hyperplasia especially epu‐
lis, granuloma teleangiectaticum
Correction of highly-inserted frenu‐
lum of the upper lip, frenulum of the
tongue and buccal frenulum, exten‐
ding too far into the alveola ridge or
the marginal gingiva and influencing
function, phonetics and denture fit‐
tings etc.
Apicectomy on teeth with periapical
lesion which had not responded to
previous endodontic treatment or if
retreatment is not recommended
(e.g. presence of large cysts or ex‐
tensive prosthetic restoration).
Application of the KEY Laser to per‐
form the osteotomy and the root re‐
section.
Removal of subgingival calculi in
periodontal pockets with periodonti‐
tis by closed or open curettage.
Removal of subgingival calculi in
periodontal pockets which have be‐
en affected by periodontitis, with
open or closed curettage and using
the detection function of the KEY
Laser 1243.
