Printer problems

Printer will not turn on
Check the front panel to see if the green light is on. If not, press the
button to activate the printer.
Make sure the power cord is securely attached to the printer and plugged
into an operating outlet.
Printer intermittently resets
Make sure the signal cable connections are securely plugged in.
Won't print after changing ink cartridges
Be sure that the cartridge carrier is moved back into the service station.
Printing doesn't start immediately when a file is sent
If you are using the serial port, make sure you're using the correct interface
cable and that it is securely connected to the proper ports on both the printer
and the computer. (ENCAD serial cable PN 203977).
If you are using the parallel port, check that both ends of the parallel cable
are securely connected. Be sure your computer has a bi-directional parallel
port.
Windows 3.x does not do multi-tasking very well. Therefore, applications
may take a long time to process data before beginning to print. During this
time, there may not be any indication of your application doing the
processing. Images will print when processing is complete.
Multiple jobs will not print
You cannot spool more than one job when running under Windows.
On Macintosh platforms, be sure the spooler is turned on.
File will not print
If you are using a serial cable, check that it is ENCAD PN 203977.
