Overall print quality is poor
Clean. Prime. Calibrate.
Check for white lines in a printed pattern which could indicate a clogged
cartridge or inkjet failure.
Use a better grade of media.
Streaks
Clean the service station at least once a month, or more often, depending on
the number of prints you are running.
Inspect the bottom of the ink cartridges for dirt or dust. Clean.
Make sure that you haven't overfilled the cartridges, as overfilled cartridges
can also cause streaks.
Be sure you are using the correct media.
Line drawings exhibit bleeding
Be sure you are printing on the inkjet coated side of the media. Roll feed
media should be loaded with the coated side to the outside. Do not roll
media with wet ink back into the printer - the wet ink can be transferred to
the rollers and back onto the media.
Colors print as monochrome
Be sure the Color option is set correctly. Confirm that the application
drivers are set to color. If using a PC PostScript printer, make sure you have
selected a color PostScript printer.
Mono mode prints appear in gray scale
You can define whether you want monochrome to be printed as black and
white (true monochrome) or as grayscale. Make this setting in the printer
driver.
Ink smears after removing the print
Be sure the ink is dry before removing the print. The greater the ink
coverage, the longer the dry time. Glossy media and humid environments
also require additional dry time.
