Caution: do not use lubricant of any kind on the shaft.
Carrier stall may also be caused by media which curls. Be sure to use
ENCAD QIS media.
Remove the cutter from the left side of the carrier and check it for damage.
Unplug and replug the printer.
Print Quality
Many of the print quality issues can be resolved by priming, cleaning, and
calibrating the cartridges. When this is the case, "Prime, clean, and
calibrate" is indicated with other solutions. Refer to the following pages for
details:

Clean - see p. 34
Calibrate - see p. 41.
No print appears
Check that the protective tape has been removed from the ink cartridge and
reinstall the cartridge.
White lines or large gaps on print or portions of characters missing
Clean. Prime. Calibrate.
Make sure the media feeds freely. See p. 25.
