Check your electrical connections.
Make sure your parallel port is dedicated to the printer. If you are sharing
the parallel port with another device, such as a ZIP or JAZZ drive,
disconnect the other device from your parallel connector.
Note: some files may take a few minutes to process before printing starts.
Plot is the wrong size
Check the plot size setting in your software driver.
Media not fed properly when loading cut sheets
Do not use media thicker than 20 mil. (0.010").
Make sure media is properly aligned when loading.
Use ENCAD QIS or ENCAD-recommended media.
Automatic cutter doesn't work or tears the paper
Make sure the Cut option in printer's software control panel is set to ON
(the default).
Make sure the knife is properly installed.
If the knife is worn, replace it. You should replace the knife after every 200
cuts (more or less, depending on the type of media used).
Be sure the media you are using can be cut with the automatic cutter. Some
media, such as canvas, may be too thick.
Carrier jams
Check for paper jams or blockage.
Remove the cutter and reinsert to ensure it is in the locked position.
Unplug and replug the printer.
Caution: the cutter blade is sharp.
Carrier stall
An obstruction in the path of the carrier could be hindering carrier
movement. If you believe that there could be an obstruction, wipe the shaft
with a clean, damp cloth.
