Priming, aligning, and calibrating cartridges

Priming the cartridges
Priming the cartridges clears the jets and helps to assure that all
cartridges are firing properly.
To prime the cartridges:
1.
Load a sheet of paper into the printer.
2.
Select Prime Cartridges in the printer's software control panel.
A test pattern prints with bands of black, cyan, magenta, and yellow.
The color bands should be smooth, without dark streaks or white lines.
The sloping lines should not look fuzzy or contain gaps.
If the test patterns do not print correctly, you may need to clean the
cartridges as described on p.34, or remove excess ink from a newly
refilled cartridge. Reprime to be sure jets are firing properly.
