Maintenance of the vacuum pumps

NOTICE
Maintenance work on the vacuum pumps must be performed by a skilled technician!
Recommendation
Have it fully serviced by the VC999 Customer Service Department every 300 hours in service, or
at least every year.

13.3.6.1 Topping up oil

NOTICE
The oil becomes discoloured if foreign matter such as liquids or dirt are drawn in from the
vacuum pumps. If this happens, the oil must be changed immediately, otherwise the vacuum
pumps may be damaged. The procedure is described in the section on "Oil changes".
Top up oil as soon as the oil level in the sight glass (1) is no longer visible, or when it has dropped to the
„min" mark.
Procedure
 Remove the lateral panelling on the left. In case of the machine versions VC999 K12A and VC999
K12NA, additionally remove the rear wall on the right.
 Open the filler neck (2).
 Pour oil in slowly until the oil level rises to the "max." mark.
Vacuum pump in all machine types:
NOTICE
Only use an oil which has been recommended by the pump manufacturer! Read the section on
"Recommended oils" for details of the recommended oils. If an oil with different properties is
used, this may lead to faulty operation or to damage!
The mixing of various types of oil is strictly prohibited!
