Processing materials
2.5.3.1
Vacuum bags
The vacuum bags must be suitable and passed for sealing under pressure and heat. They must also
conform to hygiene regulations in terms of the handling and packaging of foodstuffs. Obtain a certificate
of suitability from the manufacturer. The vacuum bags must also display the following properties:
resistance to refrigeration
resistance to heat
strength
The machine owner is responsible for ensuring that the vacuum bags used are suitable for heat sealing
and do not pose any potential dangers, such as fire hazards or the emission of toxic substances.
2.5.3.2
Suitable products
The products which are suitable for vacuum processing are those which neither explode nor emit toxic
gases during this process or which are not damaged as a result of the effect of the vacuum.
NOTICE
The products being packaged may not possess any sharp parts which may penetrate through
the packaging over time and damage the hermetic seal of the packaging.
If you are in any doubt, check the suitability of the products using spare samples or contact the
manufacturer of the machine for advice.
