6. Maintenance
6.1 Servicing
Like any technical device, the EPS 708 also requires
proper maintenance at regular intervals.
The maintenance intervals are based on operation in
vehicle service centers for 8 hours per day. Reduce the
intervals accordingly if the operating time is extended.
We recommend portable test set 0 986 614 000
(available from AA/SWS1) for performing maintenance
work. This contains all the calibrated measuring
instruments and accessories required for maintenance.
The test service (check of measurement accuracy) is
additionally performed by Bosch Customer Service
using standard flow rates.

6.2 Maintenance intervals
Maintenance work
Check high-pressure hoses (sec. 6.3)
Check hoses (sec. 6.4)
Change calibrating oil, clean calibrating oil tank (sec. 6.5)
Drain dirty oil in stowage space of work area (sec. 6.5.2)
Replacing the intake filter (test oil filter and fine filter) and the test oil filter (cooling)
(sec. 6.6)
Replace high-pressure rail filter (sec. 6.7)
Replacing the volume meter filter (sec. 6.8.1)
Replacing the flow meter filter (sec. 6.8.2)
Replace pump return filter (sec. 6.8.3)
Replace inlet filter cartridge (Injector A to F, sec. 6.9)
Replace protective plates of protective hood (sec. 6.11)
Check accuracy of temperature and pressure measurement
Clean chiller (sec. 6.12)
Inspect hydraulics area for leaks, remedy leaks
Change lubricating oil and clean lubricating oil tank (sec. 6.10.1)
Replace lubricating oil filter (sec. 6.10.2)
Replacing filter mats (sec. 6.13)
Replace every 8 years

After each filter replacement, the filter load must be
reset in the "Service Maintenance" menu.
