Requirements
!
The EPS 708 may not be operated unsupervised. It
may only be used by trained and specially instructed
personnel. Apprentices or personnel undergoing
training, induction or instruction may only use
the product under the continual supervision of
an experienced person. All work on electrical and
hydraulic equipment may only be performed by
persons with sufficient knowledge and experience
of electrical and hydraulic systems.
R
If an external cooling water supply is used, the client
must provide a pressure reducer (set to ≤ 450 kPa),
a safety filter and a shutoff valve. A coolant flow
rate of min. 14 l/min. must be ensured, in order to
provide sufficient cooling. The differential pressure
in the EPS 708 can be up to 200 kPa with a flow of
14 l/min.
R
The temperature of the cooling water may reach
max. 17 °C; if the temperature is higher the client
must provide an appropriate cooling device.
R
The cooling water must be discharged into the
waste water pipe via an oil separator without shutoff
device.
R
To ensure adequate ventilation for the EPS 708,
a gap of at least 70 centimeters must be left
between the back and sides of the unit and the wall
for EPS 708 models without internal chiller. If the
EPS 708 has a chiller, the distance between the
right-hand side of the device and the wall must be at
least 1 meter. To prevent overheating, the air grill on
the back of the EPS 708 must not be covered.
R
We recommend that the client installs an extractor
above the EPS 708. Note the opening height of the
hood in this case.
R
The client must provide a 35 A preliminary fuse.
R
Only perform tests using the test sequences of the
TestData CD (from 2011/1).
R
The client must ensure adequate noise protection.
R
Training programs on the testing of diesel
components are available at the Robert Bosch Test
Equipment training center.
