When disassembling and assembling the internal
gear (fig. 13, pos. 6) make sure not to lose the loose
driver (fig. 13, pos. 12).
9. Remove external gear, internal gear and sickle with
tweezers, clean in clean test oil, and reinsert.
i
After reinsertion internal gear, sickle and external
gear must be aligned evenly with the volume meter
housing.
10. Insert cylinder with control piston. Mind the
installation position!
11. Replace O-ring (fig. 13, pos. 1) (spare parts set:
1 687 010 136) and check if correctly positioned in
the groove.
12. Push LED with socket and connection cable through
opening of the volume meter cap.
13. Replace O-ring (fig. 13, pos. 5) (spare parts set:
1 687 010 136) and check if O-ring is correctly
positioned.
14. Fit LED with socket in plastic cap. Mind the
installation position!
15. Attach plastic cap; ensure that LED with socket is
centered in window of flow sensor cap.
16. Carefully fit volume meter cap and fixate with the

Venting the volume meter
The volume meter must be vented after cleaning.
1. Clamp common rail pump 0 445 020 105 or
0 445 020 039.
2. Switch on EPS 708 and select pump.
3. Select test step "start" and start.
4. Increase rotational speed manually to 450 rotations.
 The flow rate should then lie at 30 l/h and should
be measured by the volume meter.
5. Visually inspect if the hose (test oil inlet) (fig. 12,
pos. 2) of the flow meter if the respective flow rate
passes through the flow meter.
6. If the flow rate is not running through the flow
meter, set the rotational speed back to 205
revolutions.
7. Increase rotational speed manually to 430 rotations.
8. If necessary, further reduce the target speed until
the flow rate visibly runs volume meter.
9. Tie a cloth around the hose (fig. 12, pos. 3) in front
of the pressure-temperature sensor (fig. 12, pos. 2)
to prevent it from damage.
10. Pinch off this hose 5x consecutively for one second
with crimping pliers and re-open.
 The created interruption and subsequent in-
crease of the flow cause significant movement
of the control piston in the flow meter and bleed
the measuring system.
11. Visually inspect hose (test oil inlet) (fig. 12, pos. 2)
of volume meter.
 Flow rate flows through the volume meter.
 The volume meter is vented.
12. Reattach the top left rim (fig. 3, pos. 7).
