15. REAR ASSEMBLY

4. Rear Fork

4.1.

Removal

Place the vehicle on its center stand.
Remove the exhaust muffler.
Remove the rear brake caliper.
Remove the speed sensor.
Remove the speed sensor wire and the rear
brake fluid hose holder.
Remove the lower mounting bolt of the right
side rear shock absorber.
Remove the rear axle nut and collar.
Remove the rear fork mounting bolts.
Remove the rear fork.
 Wrap the rear caliper with a proper
cloth to protect the rear fork and
covers from being scratched.
Install in the reverse order of work.
4.2.

Inspection

Remove the clip.
Turn the inner race of each bearing with
your finger to see if they turn smoothly and
quietly. Also check if the outer race fits
tightly in the hub.
Replace the bearings if the races do not turn
smoothly, quietly, or if they fit loosely in the
hub.
Inspect the dust seal for damage or worn.
Replace it if necessary.
Apply grease on the dust seal before install.
Inspect the rubber bush for damage or worn.
Replace it if necessary.
