and Controls
Several NC blocks can be highlighted in the MDI editor using the mouse or the
<Shift>+arrow keys. Only neighboring regions of blocks can be highlighted.
Pressing <F4> "Apply MDI block" transfers all the blocks with the focus to
the NC. The first of these selected blocks is highlighted. The entire block
of selected NC blocks receives a different font color. Editing is no longer
possible. The text "Waiting for Start button" appears in the status line.
Fig.6-11:
Processing a block of NC blocks
All highlighted MDI blocks are processed "en block" after pressing the
"Start" key (analogously to "Next block"). The modal states remain after
the blocks have been processed.
After all the blocks have been processed, the NC adopts the status "in‐
active". The cursor is located at the end of the highlighted block.
Subroutines in which every type of NC command is permitted, i.e. also CPL
instructions and retrievals of subroutines with parameters, can be retrieved in
the MDI blocks.
Example for retrieving a subroutine: "N01 P/usrfepUP1.npg".
The subroutines are processed in "Next block" mode. In order to be able to
follow the processing of the block, <F3> can be pressed to activate the program
display in the same window (see
There is a special feature for the status of the program display after a subroutine
has been processed. The last block of the subroutine remains active in the
display until a new block transferred to the NC is activated using the "Start"
button. That means the newly transferred block is first marked in the MDI editor
when the "Start" button has been pressed.
The following applies to modal subroutines:
Both activation and retrieval via additional movements can occur only within a
subroutine; otherwise, an error message concerning a missing link table is is‐
sued.
