MI Configuration
Using the MI, you need to:
1. Set the parameters for Port 1 on the MCK T1/PRI card.
2. Set the T1/PRI Service parameters.
3. Set the Connect (RVP_Direct) parameters.
4. Set the parameters for Port 2 on the MCK T1/PRI card.
5. Identify the Local Trunk port.
6. Set Local Dialing parameters.
Identify the Local Trunk Port
You must identify one of the MCK T1/PRI ports as the Local Trunk port.
1. Access the Local Trunk menu using the following path:
MI Path
Configuration->Services->Local_Trunk
This menu has a single parameter: T1/PRI Port.
2. Set this parameter to T1/PRI_Port 2.
Note: In a Shared PRI configuration, you would set this parameter to T1/PRI_Port1, because a single
T1/PRI line is used for both the extended telephones and for Local Dialing.
Set the Local Dialing Parameters
You may want some of the remote telephones to support Voice Hairpinning. For each of these phones, you
have to set parameters in the Local Dialing menu that corresponds to the phone port.
1. Access the Local Dialing menu using the following path:
MI Path
Configuration->Port->Ports_1-8->Port_1->More->Local_Dialing
2. Set the Trunk Access Code to match the prefix set in the PBX to access an outside line.
3. Set the PBX Extension to the extension that corresponds to this port.
4. Set the Dial String Collector Timeout parameter correctly. After this timeout period has expired, the
keys pressed by the remote user will be captured and used to facilitate Voice Hairpinning. We recom-
mend a value of 5 seconds.
5. For the Local DID parameter, enter the Direct Inward Dial (DID) number of the extended telephone
assigned to this port.
