2 to 1 RVP_Over_IP with Local Dialing Configuration

In this application, two EXTender 7000 units are connected to a single PBXgateway II. The EXTender 7000
units can be in different cities but the connected users share Local Dialing capabilities.

In this configuration, the left port (labeled Port1) on the MCK T1/PRI card is used as the MCK EXTender link
to the Central Office (CO) to provide Local Dialing. Toll Bypass enables remote users in one city (City A) to
call standard telephones in a different city (City C or B) using the dial tone of the EXTender 7000 that is in
the local calling area. All network connections are provided to the internet via the Ethernet Ports located on
the back of the units.

2:1 RVP_Over IP Consideration

• Maximum number of extended phones that can be operated simulateously is determined by the 'Config-
uration>Connect>RVP_Over_IP>Extender Voice BW'
• The maximum number of hairpinned calls depends on the DS0s available in the Local PRI line config-
ured in the T1/PRI Port. For a full 23 DS0s PRI service, the system allows 23 hairpinned calls.
• The limitation of maximum de-hairpinned calls depends on the loading of the extender system. By
default, the remote extender is configured to handle 20 de-hairpinned calls (Configuration>Con-
nect>RVP_Over_IP>Local Call BW = 1124150). If problems arise with the configuration, it is necessary
to reduce the maximum number of de-hairpinned calls by assigning different Local Call BW.
To limit the max. de-hairpinned calls use this formula:
Local Call BW = (# of de-hairpin calls x 56145)+1250
