Frame Relay Connect Parameters

Setting the Interface Parameters

1. Access the Connect menu.
MI Path
Configuration->Connect
2. Set the Type parameter to RVP_Direct.
3. Use the arrow keys to access the Primary Interface parameter. Set this parameter to
T1_Port1_Leased.
4. Set the Extender Bandwidth parameter to the total bandwidth that will be required by the extended
telephones. Bandwidth required by an RVP Direct over T1 system is determined by the type of PBX
used, the compression algorithm, and number of extended phones that will need to be off-hook at the
same time. Use the MCK Bandwidth Calculator to compute the value of the EXTender BW parameter.
This calculator is located on your documentation CD and can be downloaded from our website:
www.MCK.com.
5. Set RVP Over Frame Relay to Enable.
