CONFIGURATION
Accessing the DiGidot C4
You can connect to the DiGidot C4 with a wired Ethernet connection or Wi-Fi.
The DiGidot C4 app is available for mobile devices in the App Store and Google Play.
Wired quick start
DiGidot C4 controllers have a built in DHCP server. This will automatically setup a connection when
the DiGidot C4 and a device are connected with Ethernet (wired)
Accessing a DiGidot C4 controller works as follows:
1. Connect the DiGidot C4 to a power source. Read chapter 'Connecting power' or choose one of
following options:
Option 1: Connect DC+ and DC- to a switching power supply, rated 5Vdc up to 24 Vdc, that is able to
output at least 5 Watts
Option 2: Connect the 5-24V barrel jack socket, located next to the Ethernet ports to an appropriate
power source (USB port).
2. Use an RJ45 Network cable (a short network cable is supplied with every DiGidot C4) to connect
the DiGidot C4 to a network port of a computer.
3. Open your internet browser (preferably Google Chrome) and go to http://10.254.254.254.
TIP: You can also go to interface.digidot.eu to access your device(s), but this requires an active
internet connection.
In case an account has been created to access the DiGidot C4, the same username and password
have to be used in the app.
Configuring computer with a fixed IP address
This setup method is not required if you only want to access the DiGidot C4 web interface because
the smart DHCP server is enabled by default, please follow the steps in previous chapter.
A fixed IP address may be required if you want to connect a control system to the DiGidot C4, such
as a computer with MADRIX.
To setup a wired computer connection, power up the DiGidot C4 and use a CAT5E (or higher), plug
the network cable in one of the RJ45 network ports of the DiGidot C4 and into the computers
Ethernet/UTP port.
