550 Sheet Multipurpose Tray Kit (PF-9110)
NOTE
• 550-sheet Multipurpose Tray Connection Kit (AK-9140) has to be installed for 550-sheet Multipurpose Tray
Kit (PF-9110) installation.
• When using the Multi Bypass Tray on the paper feeder, this option must be installed so that the line speed
matches that of the paper feeder.
• When two or more paper feeder are connected, the Multi Bypass Tray can be installed on only the
downstream paper feeder (the closest one to the main unit).
• The Multi Bypass Tray must be installed on the paper feeder before the paper feeder is docked to the
mainframe.
• If the paper feeder is already installed, it must be disconnected from the mainframe before installation of the
Multi Bypass Tray.

Installing on a paper feeder (PF-9100)
CAUTION
• The unit must be connected to a power source that is close to the unit and easily accessible.
• Make sure that the main power switch and AC power switch of the main unit are turned OFF and that the
power cord is disconnected before performing the following procedures.
Disconnect paper feeder (PF-9100)
Skip to the next section if you are installing the paper feeder and the Multi Bypass Tray together.

If the paper feeder is connected to the machine, disconnect it.

To prevent damage to the connectors, before pulling the paper feeder away from the
mainframe:
• Pull the paper feeder about 20 cm (8") away from the main unit.
• Disconnect the connectors.
• Pull the paper feeder completely away from the machine.
Preparing for the Multi Bypass Tray

Take the multi bypass tray out from the box and place it on a work space. Remove the
accessory packet [A] and open it. Remove all tape and shipping materials.
