Envelopes are not properly
sealed.
Envelope flaps are not
moistened properly.
Possible cause and remedy
Stroke your hand firmly over the envelope's flap
area.
Use SEALIT, sealing fluid available from FP or
authorised FP dealer.
Felts are soiled / dried out.
Clean the sealer (see chapter 18.10.1).
Fill SEALIT sealing fluid (see chapter 18.10.2).
Moistening felt is worn.
Replace rocker with moistening felt
(see chapter 18.10.3).
Absorption felt is worn.
Replace absorption felt (see chapter 18.10.3).
Moistening felt incorrectly seated in the rocker.
Correct moistening felt position (see chapter 19.5).
Absorption felt incorrectly seated in the sealer. Sur-
face is curved.
Check and if necessary correct absorption felt
position in the sealer (see page 158).
