9 Maintenance
Carry out the prescribed maintenance in line with the specified intervals.
9.1

Safety measures during maintenance work

If work needs to be performed on the battery storage system that will stir up dust
(e.g. the removal of dirt deposits), the smoke detector must be covered with a
protective cap before starting work.
Once work is complete, the protective cap must be removed again without fail!
Observe the following points before and during maintenance work.
– Maintenance work must only be performed by qualified specialists.
– Wear the personal protective equipment necessary for the work in question.

Block off access to the working area of the battery storage system. Make sure that
there are no unauthorised persons in the working area of the battery storage system.

Make sure that all assemblies/components have cooled down to ambient temperature.
– Carry out work on low components from a squat position; not by bending over. Carry
out work on high components with a straight, upright posture.
– Use a ladder if you cannot reach the assemblies/components requiring maintenance
from the ground. Do not use a single ladder, and make sure that the ladder is securely
in position.
– Replace any assemblies/components that are not in perfect condition immediately.
– Only use original spare parts.
