9.1 Extended Glossary of Terms

This section defines terms used within this manual as follows:
General Terms and Abbreviations (Section 9.1.1)
Mounting Position Terms (Section 9.1.2)

9.1.1 General Terms and Abbreviations

This section describes general terms and abbreviations used within this manual.
"Amp" stands for ampere which is a unit of electric current
"Base Tube" refers to the tube with the largest diameter. When the mast is fully
extended, this is the tube closest to the mounting surface.
"CD" stands for coefficient of drag.
"Collars" attach to the top of each tube except the Top Tube.
"EMC" stands for electromagnetic compatibility.
"EMI" stands for electromagnetic interference.
"Extended" refers to the partial- or full-raised position of the mast that the mast
mechancially goes to from the nested position. In the extended position, some or all the
tubes have risen.
"ID" stands for Inside Diameter or the diameter to the inside edge of a circle
"in.-lb." stands for inch-pounds, which is a unit of torque equal to the force in pounds
multiplied by the distance in inches to the pivot point
"Intermediate Tubes" refer to the tubes between the Base Tube and the Top Tube.
"lb.-ft." stands for pounds-feet, which is a unit of torque equal to the force in pounds
multiplied by the distance in feet to the pivot point
"Mast" to refer to the mechanical telescoping mast
"Mast System" to refer to the entire Stiletto AL Mast System (Telescoping Mast,
Universal Control System, and additional accessories)
