Power Down

The following section details the basic procedures for putting the VERITY 1910 MS Detector
into standby mode, venting the VERITY 1910 MS Detector, and powering down the
VERITY 1910 MS Detector.
Standby
The VERITY 1910 MS Detector must be put into standby before performing certain
maintenance tasks or venting the VERITY 1910 MS Detector.
1. Stop flow to the spraychip.
● If using an Lc system, flush the system using a mobile phase solution containing 95%
of the organic solvent. Follow the manufacturer's instructions to stop the Lc system,
including the MiDas.
● Stop the syringe pump.
2. Monitor the system to ensure the microspray has stopped.
3. Set the instrument into standby mode. All high voltages,the nebulizer gas, and the vacuum
interface will be switched off.
Vent
The VERITY 1910 MS Detector must be vented before performing certain maintenance tasks
or powering down the VERITY 1910 MS Detector.
1. Ensure the VERITY 1910 MS Detector is in standby mode before venting.
2. Vent the VERITY 1910 MS Detector. Venting takes approximately 1–2 minutes.
The VERITY 1910 MS Detector vents to atmosphere and the pressures in the

Ensure the VERITY 1910 MS Detector has been vented before shutting down the
VERITY 1910 MS Detector.
The VERITY 1910 MS Detector must be shut down using software control or approved

manual operation. Never shut down the VERITY 1910 MS Detector by disconnecting the
power supply or by simply switching the power switch on the rear panel.
● If under Masscape® Software control (LocAL), close the Masscape Software and click on
the Options icon in the upper right of the screen and then click on Shutdown.
● If under TRILUTIon® Lc Software control (REMoTE), refer to the software documentation
for shutdown details.
