Prepare to Analyze

This section describes the steps needed to prepare the VERITY 1910 MS Detector to analyze
samples. Follow each section in order and refer to the software documentation provided
with the VERITY 1910 MS Detector for operational instructions. Before setting up the
VERITY 1910 MS Detector follow your Lc supplier's instructions to set the Lc method for your
runs. This could include entering a gradient timetable (for example), or start/stop time for
data acquisition.

Follow all safety instructions outlined by the MSDS sheets for all chemicals used. If using
hazardous chemicals, ensure that local extraction is provided to remove potentially
hazardous aerosol particles and vapor produced during microspray.
If the VERITY 1910 MS Detector is installed as a constituent part of another system, the
safety of the assembled system is the responsibility of the person responsible for that
systems assembly.
When installed, during normal operation, this product has a sound pressure emission (at the
operator position and 1m from the rear of the instrument) of <70dB.
To ensure the stated sound level is met the pump exhaust port must either be connected a
laboratory exhaust system or have a silencer fitted.
Removal of the top cover of the VERITY 1910 MS Detector can lead to the risk of
personal injury and exposure to hazardous voltages. Never remove the cover of the
VERITY 1910 MS Detector, only certified persons are authorized to carry out repairs
internally.
