Locate Required Items

● VERITY 19X0 MS Detector calibration Kit (part number 14410023) which includes:
○ Syringe Pump
○ Luer Lock Syringe
○ cable
○ Tubing
○ Instructions
● calibration Solution: Sodium trifluoroacetate (NaTFA) at 10 mmol in 1:1 2-propanol:water.
NOTICE

Pump Down

Pump down the VERITY® 1910 MS Detector upon initial installation and following a system
shutdown. If performing the auto tune (calibration) in response to shifting resolution values,
pump down may not be required.
1. Start the pump down.
NOTE
2. Allow 30 minutes to ensure pump down is complete and all electronics are warmed up
and functioning within their correct environmental parameters.
● Pressures in the ion guide chamber must be below 3.0 E
● Pressures in the analytical chamber must be below 5.0 E

AUTo TUNE (cALIbRATE)
It is essential that the solution used for calibration is free of particulates as they can affect the
microspray. Use non-cellulose based filters, such as a nylon based 0.22 µm filter.
Nitrogen gas purges the interface before the vacuum pumps are activated. Other commands
to the VERITY 1910 MS Detector are not allowed during the pump down cycle. It takes
approximately five minutes for the vacuum pumps to reach the necessary speeds to complete
the pump down.
