Thehigh-voltagebatteryunitintheI01iscooleddirectlybyrefrigerant.Therefrigerantcircuitofthe
airconditioningsystemisthereforemadeupoftwoparallelbranches:Oneforcoolingthepassenger
compartmentandoneforcoolingthehigh-voltagebatteryunit.Foreachbranchthereisacombined
expansionandshutoffvalveinordertobeabletocontrolthecoolingfunctionsindependentof
eachother.Thebatterymanagementelectronicscanactivateandopenthecombinedexpansion
andshutoffvalvebyapplyingvoltage.Inthiswayrefrigerantcanflowtothehigh-voltagebattery,
expanding,evaporatingandcoolingintheprocess.Thecoolingofthepassengercompartmentisalso
effectedinacondition-basedmanner.Thecombinedexpansionandshutoffvalveupstreamfromthe
evaporatorcanalsobeactivatedelectricallyandbytheEDME.
